It didn't mop however, and its removable cleaning pads were a bit difficult to attach and couldn't cope with dirt that had dried on.

Its app isn't equipped with advanced features such as multiple cleaning modes or automated scheduling. It is compatible with Alexa but its voice controls don't seem to be very intuitive or responsive. It's also a bit sporadic when it comes back to the charging station following an exercise. Other robots can follow an obstruction or follow a previous route however the RX3 is a mess until it gives up.

Another issue we encountered was with its smart features, particularly the mapping function and the digital keep-out zones. While it did a good job of avoiding our furniture legs and shoes, it got easily caught by socks and cables, and couldn't handle the tassels that adorn rugs. We decided not to include the Scout RX3 on our best combo vacuum Buy list. Still, with a decent price and a dazzling performance it's a Scout RX3 is worth considering if you're looking for a smarter alternative to the traditional uprights.
